Block Digital Payment Accounts: Digital payments have grown significantly in India. It simplifies daily tasks and, of course, facilitates hassle-free payments. Online transactions are increasing and will continue to increase in the coming years. There has been an enormous increase since the coronavirus pandemic.
According to RBI’s monthly data, UPI transactions in April this year were Rs. 9.83 lakh crore in August to Rs. 10.73 lakh crore has been done. Most people, it has been noted, use multiple UPI payment applications. Even if it made life easier, there were some adverse effects as well. Smartphones store all these payment applications, which can become a problem if they are lost or stolen. This is due to the constant risk of such platforms being misused.
The most critical course of action in such circumstances is to prioritize blocking all your accounts. We will describe how to block your Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm account in this article.
Blocking a Google Pay account:
Step 1: Call the toll-free helpdesk at 1800-419-0157 to contact Google Pay or GPay.
Step 2: Select the option to talk to an expert and enter all the required information to disable your account.
Follow these instructions to block PhonePe:
PhonePe users can call the support line at 08068727374.
Step 2: You must provide the customer service representative with the information listed below:
– Registered mobile number – PhonePe-registered email address – Last payment details including type and amount – Names of associated bank accounts – Alternate mobile number, if any
Step 3: A temporary block will be placed on your account.
Follow these procedures to block your Paytm account.
Step 1: After disabling your SIM, call the Paytm Payments Bank helpline on 0120 4456456.
Select the second option, “Report loss or illegal use of wallet, debit card or savings account,” to continue.
Select “Lost Phone” option in step 3
Step 4: Enter wrong cellphone number
Select “Block Paytm Account” option in step 5.
